![]() ~*The One Who Is Torn Apart*~ The Id story... WARNING... MAJOR SP0ILERS!
Id
is the one with the fiery red hair (and a temper which is just as fiery if not more). Rather destructive, a good match for Grahf, I thought. Id is also Fei's "destructive" personality. Fei has disassociative personality disorder - NOT schitzophrenia. He has 4 "personalities": the Fei we know in the game, Id, Fei the coward, and Fei the "fake" persona. (By the way, Id isn't to be confused with Id, the primary part of the mind or whatever).
The cause of Fei's disorder was, for lack of better words, childhood trauma. Fei's mother Karen had become the host body for Miang. When Fei was 4,
Karen/Miang discovered the Fei was a 'contact' - part of the Wave Existence.
(Deus was the other part) Mom took Fei to labs where all these tests
and experiments were done to him, and these tests became really unbearable,
and leaving Fei wondering why Mom wouldn't help him. Fei tried to tell
Dad what was going on, buit he just assumed it was a child's runaway imagination.
Most of the time, his father was busy with his duties in Shevat, and didn't
notice Karen had changed. Fei's mind, or subconsciousness created another
"personality" to deal with this trauma. This, of course, is Id. Fei, the
coward, pushed all the bad memories onto Id, making Id's hate grow to extreme
destructive rage. Grahf is Lacan. He came to the village
because he wanted to return to the perfect re-incarnation of Lacan's body
- Fei. (Lacan was split up into two in Grahf and Fei - his spirit
in one and his will in the other. This is why Grahf wanted to "become
one" with Fei. He fought Khan, and Karen died standing there, from
a shot by Grahf. Remember the early flashbacks of a young Fei splattered
with blood? While Fei was targeted, Karen's humanity finally overpowered
Miang even just for a few seconds, moving in front of Fei to save him,
and killing herself - her blood all over Fei. However, Id blames Karen's
death on Fei, the coward. Id does not have the memory of mother saving
him. Id also blames Khan, for not being around for him and his mother. The
Fei we know has no memories of his past at all before his life in Lahan.
Id remembers only all the bad memories, making him so angry and self-destructive.
Fei the 'coward' holds all the good memories, being a coward because of
refusing to remember the bad crap. Id is only conscious when Fei sleeps.
Id created Redrum, the Kislev sewers monster, which is why Fei had nightmares
at the same time of the murders (which were all at night). Id can destroy
villages and fight Gears all on foot (although he had his wicked looking
red Gear...) The first time you fight Id and return to the Yggdrasil, that
is why Fei is not in the medical room, but by Weltall in the Gear hangar.
With all the strength of Id, still Fei the 'coward' seems to have had more
control. The Fei we know, however, has no clue of any of this until Citan
tells him.
Shevat
feared Fei because of Id's destructive power. Grahf caused the incident
in Lahan to try and awaken Id (which, I believe he did). Citan, for Solaris,
keeps watch over Fei to make sure he doesn't become a threat... or that
Id does not awaken; and also because Fei's a real Contact. Unfortunately,
Citan can't stop Id from 'awakening'. If Fei lives as peacefully as he
did in Lahan, Id can be kept away. It is why Fei hates to fight.
But if Fei's disturbed by disaster or fierce battling or such, Id will
awaken.

this info, I'm sure isn't totally accurate; I've only played Xenogears
through once and I don't remember everything too well. But I tried =) |
